SPCA $20,000 Challenge

Please donate to the SPCA right now by following this link! A private family foundation is matching donations 1:1 through October 15.

From the Tompkins County SPCA:

Right now, you have an incredible opportunity to double your support of the animals in need.

A private family foundation has offered to match dollar-for-dollar - up to $20,000 - any gift you send by October 15th. While the economy is showing small signs of recovery, we have seen a decrease in critically important grant funding. That's why this challenge match is especially exciting!

• $50 will become $100
to provide food, shelter and unconditional love to an abandoned pet.

• $75 will become $150
to help spay or neuter an animal before adoption, helping us stem the tide of pet overpopulation.

• $100 will become $200
to provide veterinary care, vaccinations and preventative medications for some of the 3,000 animals who reach us each year.

Any amount you send will be doubled so that we can continue to serve our community as an open admission, No-Kill shelter, the first of our kind in the entire country. This matching opportunity couldn't be needed more. There is no better time to give than right now! As we celebrate 10 years of being open admission, No-Kill, we continue to struggle financially to provide unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals with food, water, shelter, medical care, and to find new families who will cherish them.

Great Lake Swimmers

I feel an obsession coming on...
We saw the Great Lake Swimmers last night, and the show was fabulous! In addition to their own great music (including a few from an upcoming album), they played the Guy Clark song "Dublin Blues."

B-School Tailgate

All of us, including the dogs, George's parents, and Gary, went to the welcome back BBQ tailgate hosted by the School of Business Peer Advisors group. Walter and Norman wore the school colors, yellow and blue. They love spending time with the students!

March for the Animals!

SPCA's March for the Animals is just one month away. Have you registered yet? Don't miss this opportunity to  help the animals of our community while having fun on an early fall walk. This is a critical fundraiser for the SPCA of Tompkins County and they need all hands on deck. In a few days, I'll tell you how you can sponsor me in the walk if you aren't able to participate in the March yourself.
