Triple Digits

Hot Out

100° is nothing in Arizona, but triple digits are miserable here,  partly because of the humidity, partly because so few homes have air conditioning. I spend most of the day ensconced in the TV room with the window unit.

Porcupine Topper

I like to knit baby hats because they are cute, fast, and fun. Luckily, I know people who are going to be having babies soon. I'll give other finished objects to charity. My most recent project is the Porcupine Hat designed by Woolly Wormhead. I used Jeannee DK by Plymouth Yarn, a cotton/acrylic mix. The yarn is very soft but I found it to be very splitty as well. Probably not the best choice for a project with these little worms which required repeated cable cast on and bind off.

Hats On!

I've been knitting lots of hats lately. I have a short attention span with projects, and hats are so satisfying. I'm able to try knew techniques, yet the projects are short enough that I don't lose interest. It seems I may need to expand my color selections!

Quotation of the Day

‎"Until a vegan or vegetarian enters the room, people don't see themselves as meat-eaters. They are merely 'eaters', and it is we vegans who have made them aware of what they are doing. Often this is discomforting."
