Terrorists

Under the Bush Administration, the FBI improperly targeted left-leaning activist groups, including Greenpeace, PETA, and anti-war organizations, according to a recently released internal report authored by Inspector General Glenn A. Fine. The Washington Post writes:
Fine's report says that in some cases, agents began investigations of people affiliated with activist groups for "factually weak" reasons. In others, the report said, the FBI extended probes "without adequate basis" and improperly kept information about activist groups in its files.
While this makes my head want to explode, the targeting of left-leaning groups, especially those focused on animal rights and the environment, is not a surprise, nor is coverage of the atrocity new. Will Potter has been blogging about the violation of First Amendment rights at Green is the New Red since 2008.

If you are not a part of these groups, you might ask, what does this have to do with you? In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., "Justice denied anywhere diminishes justice everywhere."
