Corning Museum of Glass

When Gary, Jessica, and Alivia were here, we went to the Corning Museum of Glass. It's a very interesting museum, with contemporary glass art, a history of glass, and special exhibits, as well as an interactive exhibit about the practical uses of glass. While I enjoyed the contemporary art, my favorite exhibition was the history of glass. Objects included, as you would expect, glasses and vessels, but also religious artifacts, beads, pendants, lights, paperweights, and stained glass windows. The only drawback is that the museum is so comprehensive, I got to a point where I couldn't absorb any more. I had to stop looking because everything was appearing the same. Luckily, the museum is only an hour or so away.

This is a Dale Chihuly glass sculpture in the lobby of the museum. It's called "Fern Green Tower" though it appears yellow to me!
