Gary, Jessica, and Alivia are visiting us from Michigan. They've been here since Saturday, while I was still at AOM. Tuesday, I had my presentation. It went fine, but so few people were in the audience. Usually, I like a small crowd, but this was disappointing. Lots of good questions, though.
Wednesday, I left my hotel at 7:20 a.m. (PST) and got home at 4:30 a.m. (EST). My blood pressure will rise if I recount the whole ordeal; suffice it to say, I will not be traveling on United Airlines again.
Yesterday, though, I finally got to enjoy our guests. We went to ABC for breakfast--yum!--spent the day at the Sciencenter, and ate dinner at Moosewood. Today, we drove to Watkins Glen and visited the Farm Sanctuary, then headed to Corning to see the Corning Glass Museum.
We'll enjoy this weekend, but next week, George and I both start work. He's going to be working at a Cornell lab studying potatoes, and I will be getting ready for classes which begin on August 27.
