Today, on March 14, we celebrate pi, or 3.14...., the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Not only is pi an irrational number (which can't be expressed as a fraction and so is never-ending), it is also a transcendent number (meaning no algebraic operations can produce it).
